The Knight Riders really lifted their game in the last 7 overs when Kallis and Yusuf Pathan started to hit the ball harder. Kallis has been a key player for Kolkata over the past year including the IPL but he gets a lot of scrutiny about his slow approach to the T20 game but as he showed against Somerset he is capable of scoring fairly quickly. The first 10 overs of bowling was a horrid time for the Knight Riders as that was where the game was lost due to some poor bowling and some excellent batting. The spinners will remain key on this surface in Hyderabad here the wicket is slow but Brett Lee is an experienced bowler but for Kolkata to be very hard to beat he needs to take some wickets as he only has 50 wickets from his 60 T20 appearances. The key for Kolkata is to find early wickets and of course manage a way to face Shaun Tait.
South Australia performed extra ordinary during the Big Bash but that did have Kieron Pollard then but now they must use their Australian talent and Adil Rashid to conquer the world and go all the way to the final this year but they must win this match at all cost. Other than Shaun Tait the bowling wasn’t too bad at all but Tait must bounce back after being destroyed by JJ Smuts. It was a shame during the batting innings for the Redbacks as their big players let them down with Harris, Cooper and Ferguson failing to get going. Kolkata are steady starters and when Shaun Tait is coming at you anything can happen so key for South Australia is key wickets but the spinners may cause Kolkata a few problems as they were failing to hit the spinners freely. The Daniel Harris and Klinger parnership is crucial as both are well experienced in the format and both are capable of big things but they need a good start to gather some confidence and put Kolkata on the back foot right from the get go.
